Yesterday afternoon, while scouting George Bush Park, I saw three Mississippi Kites, soaring above the vacant soccer fields. Regrettably, I did not have my extender attached to my 400DOii and they were pretty high. They were hunting and diving on invisible prey, so I parked and walked out into the open and waited for my chances.
This Kite was low and far away. This is nearly a 100% crop but I like it anyway, he seems to be looking right into my lens, eye-to-eye, so to speak.
