This guy was feeding along a line of bull rushes in a small lake near my home. when I got close he took off and made a slow circle around me. This was one of the first photos I took with my new "new to me" 7d. I hope this one lasts longer than the last one...lol

I was at Merced NWR yesterday. This is part of the migration path of waterfowl down central California. The place was bursting with chickens. When an eagle flew overhead, all hell broke loose. It is an amazing sight to behold. I posted a few other images on another thread here. There are a ton more images on my smugmug site.

I am not much of a bird in flight photographer but I did catch these Golden Eye taking off on the Madison River in Yellowstone last weekend.
