Excellent shot, Shalu. The blurred lines in the background definitely gives the illusion of speed. I must say, the meal the gull has in it's beak does not look at all tasty. :-)

Thank you, Mike! It was a clam that the gull was holding in its mouth. It dropped the clam to the ground before picking it up again, so the clam was full of dirt on its shell :lol:.

How on earth did the AF pick this one out and lock on the Kite at its astonishing cruising speed, with all that foreground and background clutter...:-)

Taken at the "Birds of Prey" show at the Lone Pine Sanctuary this morning.

Can't comment about AF except something obviously worked.

I'd imagine the camera had something to do with it, but then you just can't cast it about the sky and expect that to be the outcome.
A beautiful bird indeed and well captured.
