A photographer friend of mine told me that it is very challenging to get a picture of tern (or kingfisher for that matter) diving vertically with the beak just touching the water surface but not penetrating it. This is the result of me trying to answer his challenge. I think I got pretty close

This little Hummer either had an injury or was blinded because every shot I have he has his right eye closed but seemed to manage ok even though its depth perception was off at times.

Been rainin' but I'm not complainin' with scorched earth and upper 90s for temps this time of year. Makes light an issue however.

This young ruby-throated hummer has been collecting pollen on it's head likely from the turk's cap in my front yard. Top of it's head looks more like hair than feathers. So young that I'm unsure of the sex.
