The Blue Footed Booby, a very close, slightly smaller relative of the Gannet, belies it's comical nature that it presents when nesting on land, as it takes to the air it becomes another artist, with extreme agility and grace.

Here is something a bit different. This is a shot of gannets diving for fish off the Bass Rock in the North Sea off the Firth of Forth, which goes up to Edinburgh. Its a big colony.

The shot shows an adult and juvenile.

I noticed the common terns seemed to manage multiple fish and the sandwich terns only ever a single fish. Beak design??
