belted kingfisher

Your Kingfishers are lovely birds.
This one from below is beautifully marked.
Very aerodynamic body.
Done them well.

They are very nice. Fascinating to see the differing wing/ feet/ body actions through the air.
Well composed and captured

Shalu...Those are two excellent kingfisher shots. I have found them very tough to get. Both are females...I'm assuming they are the same bird.

Thanks. I enjoy those actions as well and each bird is a little different.

Finally got out this morning for a few minutes. Slow day at the wetlands but found these two characters.

Not the best angle or sharpest, but I like the mood:

Nice Matt...I especially like number one; the bird is sharp and stands out from the nicely blurred background...plus the composition is quite nice.
The thing about BIF shots that I feel is important, is the eye. I feel that you really have to get the eye. I throw away so many of my shots that I kinda like, but fail to get the eye. They pretty much always go in the cyber garbage can. To me, your first shot meets every criterion of a well done BIF shot.

Beautiful. One I'd easily hang on the wall.
The birds, water, rippled reflections, all come together well.

That's rather colourful & graceful.
Makes flying look effortless.

Couple lovely shots there.
Agree on your comments re the lower one.
The light playing across the water is very nice
You've captured that well.

That's well done.
Interesting the fish is aligned with the bird.
A lot here I've seen just grab it in both feet and tuck it under crossways.
Beautiful bird.
