This is an incredibly nice raptor BIF shot Kevin. The bird is sharp and so nicely separated from the background. It stands out and grabs your eye.

Incredibly nice shot, Shalu. I really like the flight pose.

Thank you very much, Mike! That pose was getting ready to land on a branch to the right of the frame.

According to the pamphlet on their website Robert, Northern Harriers breed there and are common to abundant in November and December. Good Luck!

Back lit images are usually tough with wildlife, generally not our choice of lighting. The barn owl, however really came out nice, Shalu.

Another great shot! I noticed that you are from Los Altos. I grew up in Sunnyvale, right on the border (think Foothill Expressway and Homestead). Are you getting these owls at Don Edwards, or one of the Mid Peninsula open spaces? Just curious for the next time I visit my mom :-)

Thank you, Itsed65! Glad to see another from the bay area on the forum. I have to drive to the east bay for this owl, it is at Hayward Regional Shoreline. It is very unusual to see barn owl flying during the day, so there are a lot of photographers there every day in the morning, especially big crowds during weekends.

Cool shot Paul. That egret better start flying a little bit higher or he's going to become a gator appetizer.

Thanks Mike.
Here's an image of a not so lucky Egret.
Main course for the Gator.
