Meh... Not to sound like I'm trying to really downplay any of it as I'm very proud of where I've been and what I've accomplished but in the end, it was a job.

Being at things like Super Bowls, Stanley Cup Finals and MLB Playoff Series is all well and good but often TV is treated like crap compared to writers and still photographers (they're "Media" and we aren't) and there's certainly no "glamor" in being away from home 4-5 days a week for 35-45 weekends a year living out of a suitcase and sleeping in bad hotel beds.

That kind of lifestyle (odd hours, really long days, travel, not eating right and too many nights in the bar) begins to take a toll both physically and mentally and as I got older, I just started to burn out and resent the downside more and more.

I have to give all the thanks in the world to my lovely wife who was actually the one who suggested I bag TV and pursue photography full time. The pay cut has been significant but the change in how I view life is remarkable. Never be afraid to chase that which your heart truly desires!

Yeah, Jay, it's funny how you can have a niche where you are on top of the game, but at a price, and even then the game is the niche.

Something like that -- don't take me seriously -- I just remember in my corporate job the people who I worked with and produced results for would say things like "Tony's great, he walks on water!" but just go a niche over and it was like "Tony? Meh..."!

I think I just got introspective back there and totally off topic, but I can certainly relate to the long days, nights, time on "the road" and nights in the bar:)!

Colour me disappointed.

Well, I could have posted it in some other section like video but I figured since it was about the actual lenses being used that it might be fun for this section!

If this is directed at me, I apologize. I meant no disrespect to you or the actual thread...I just hoped it was about the use of the new telephoto lenses at the superbowl...to see them actually being used, so we'd all know that they're REAL!!

Amazing to see that in the exif of the photo's on the press release it reveals that Canon uses GIMP for their editing needs. Or who ever edited the photo....
