I just found out that you can use Google Sites to register a domain with all of the protection features for just $10/yr which includes free email and calendar intergration.
My question is, is there any downside to using Google sites over Go-Daddy whom is currently my sites dommain host?

Doesn't Google make you sign up for Google Apps Business when you get a domain from them which costs $50/year?

My website is hosted through Google. $10/year and no extra fees. And easier to manage because I use a BlogSite via Blogger instead of a Flash Website so it's nice to be able to manage everything through one website. I just click on the "Publishing" tab, pick my URL, pay, done! I believe they even automatically forward your website to the new URL for you, but it's been so long ago that I did this that I really don't remember.

I'd probably rather get the domain from Google. Email is integrated through gmail and there's no excessive unnecessary upselling like seen on Godaddy.

I use go daddy for my website, which is a wordpress blog template, email host and domain registration.

It's about $100 a year and well worth it for me, I have no experience setting up a website and the service from go daddy has been outstanding!
