I shot the image below when I was practicing my product photography skills a while ago (back in 2009 - along with a few others). It's not very interesting or good (you can see the rough paper texture in the shadows), but it turned out OK for my purpose of displaying what is and how it goes together (which is what the supplier's one was lacking).
Manfrotto 143s flash cold shoe:
Eitherway, yesterday when I was looking to buy a few more of them, I noticed that it's been used in a few webshops around the world:
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit C
I know this is just an insignificant piece of lighting gear and everyone could have made the shot, but I don't feel 100% comfortable about people just ripping this off of flickr to use for commercial purposes. Even my original exif data is still in there (but without copyright info since I didn't have any in lightroom back then). For some reason this just appears first in google images when you search for the model number, so maybe it was an honest mistake when looking up the supplier's images for it.
I don't really know what to do about this; or even if I should do anything. Should I email them to take it down? Should I contact manfrotto and donate the image to them
? Should I just shrug?
Eitherway, now it's off my chest, thanks for reading
