1.4 is whats important here so sharpness, colors etc at that Av is whats important. With that being said, which would be the better lens? The sigma I've used and had an ok copy but not sure if the Mark I of the 24mm would be better.

Interesting question.

They should be very similar on an APS-C camera.
The 24L Mk1 is better built, has less distortion and probably slightly better border sharpness.
The Sig30 will probably be slightly sharper wide open, but only in the center.

I wouldn't pay too much for the 24L Mk1 since the newer Mk2 version is much better.

I think the L would be the better choice if money weren't an issue, and you'd be able to use it on the IV.

For people who only have a crop I usually recommend the Sigma 30, but because you have the IDIV as well Id say get the 24L or, if you get the sigma, do it to save some money to go toward some other necessary piece of gear (read upgrade to the 70-200 2.8 IS II).

I'd def go for the 24L, even though the price point would be significantly higher

Ya, I'm hooked on the 24L. I may even try to stretch funds and get the MK II version.
