I am shocked someone would pay $450 for a flash, though. That's outrageous. Only a few months ago it was $385 on amazon. I nearly bought one to replace my mark1 at that price.

IMG NOTICE: [NOT AN IMAGE URL, NOT RENDERED INLINE] It goes for 289.00 which is a pretty good price in general IMO.It may not have the nice jog wheel of the 580ex models but it does boast a slightly better GN and goes for 300 on most sites. If not, just wait until later in the year when prices drop again. I've noticed over the last couple of years prices have been going up and down at various times of the year. A little patience could very well pay off in the end. --Bone | FSS

I am shocked someone would pay $450 for a flash, though. That's outrageous. Nothing revolutionized my photography more than my 580 ex ii. I had a 550 before that broke. I probably just didn't get it before, but I always shoot events at f/4-f/5.6 now with 200-800 ISO using 1/4 manual flash. The lens and body are almost meaningless there. 1D III 5D II 5D | 580 EX II x 2
