Has anyone used the Sterlingtek NB-60 1200m/ah battery that's the replacement for the standard Canon NB-6l? This fits the S90, S95 Canon cameras. My main concern is how does it fit in the camera. I've heard stories where some non-Canon batteries are fatter and are a pain to install/remove. My S90 is about a year old and I want to get a backup (or 2) battery. Any other comments are appreciated. Thanks.

I just stuck my spare Sterlingtek battery into my S90 (first time as I've only used the Canon battery so far). It is, indeed a little bit fatter than the Canon battery. I can see the difference when I hold the batteries together. About .5mm difference.
When I release the battery with the tab, it doesn't pop up like the Canon battery does. That said, it's not hard to remove; I just turn the camera upside down and it slides right out. One concern I have, now that I've seen this, is how hard it would be to remove if the battery heats up and expands some. It might be a bit difficult to get out if this happens.
I've always had excellent results with Sterlingtek batteries and have never seen one swell after use. So it may just be OK.

I charged the Sterlingtek battery for one hour to top it off. Battery did not heat up during the charge.
As I suspected, the fit is the same as before. I'm confident that the Sterlingtek battery for the S90 will be just fine.

Wait! Dont they make a 1600mAh battery now? Or is that just for the S95?

They do. And they state that the 1600 mAh battery is safe for all Canons that use the NB-6L.
The two I got from them several months ago are 1400 mAh. I didn't see those listed now; just 1000, 1200 and 1600.

On my 1600MAH Sterlingtek on the S95, the first charge got 250 photos and some video with alot of image reviewing on the LCD. The second charge only got 200 photos. The stock battery will barely get 200 photos. I'd estimate this Sterlintek one is only slightly better..maybe 230 photos or so.
