Tamron 28-75 manual focus ring

Just bought a used one and am quite impress with the sharpness but noticed the manual focus ring doesn't turn as smooth and it is quite noisy. Is that normal?

Yes, switch it to manual mode, it's not a USM lens.

That works! in manual it turns just as smooth as my other lenses:oops:.

Hopefully you didn't try a lot to manual focus with the lens energized by the body...Tamron warns that it can damage the internal focus mechanism by doing so.
