As title says, I'm in the market for new battery charger.

Currently using AA Kodak Ni-MH batteries with Kodak charger which is very slow and doesn't tell you when it's done charging. I heard there's two kinds of rechargeable batteries and don't mind switching if have to.

Thanks in advance

The most featured of all the chargers is the Maha MH-C9000, but it maybe overkill.

Be carefull with the use of fast chargers. All rechargeable batteries dislike heat - generated while fast charging (like the 15 minute units)- it destroys the battery. I have used the MH-C801D for about 3 years now and still have all 16 rechargeables that I bought with it. They are still working like new. And it is nice to be able to charge 8 batteries at atime instead of 4.

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

I am using an Ansmann energy 4 and a Maha MHC9000 for several years now, both with favorable experience.

+1. The multiple charging options are helpful with overall battery life.

What makes it better than something like a LaCrosse BC700? Just wondering in case I want a second battery charger since I am pretty happy with my BC700.

I don't think there is much of a difference between the two models the features are similiar, the only thing which is not that important, is that you can set more charging rates with the MH-c9000 while with the BC-700 your limited to 200, 500 and 700mah.

if anything the LaCrosse is more compact and better for travelling.

Although for compactness the Lenmar R2G804U is the best intelligent charger and even includes a usb port for usb charging.

I have this one - MAHA C-9000 - and about to order this one MH-C801D. I need to charge all twelve batteries at once - 4 for the flash and 8 for the battery pack.

What did you purchase?
