I only know there's EF-S 18-55mm lens which can only be used on non-ff camera.

But here's some info to mount EF-S on FF camera : https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=178508

I tried my EF-S 15-85mm on a FF and there was severe vignetting at all focal lengths. I bet the 18-55 would also be unusable.

That plus the 18-55 IS has the Image Stabilization sensors at the rear of the lens. This makes it a more difficult conversion.

I tried my Tamron 17-50 on my 5D. It did not go well.

Seriously? You want to put a $120 lens on a 5DMKII or 1DS?

The EFS 18-55 is a kit lens for the entry level DSLRs. You won't be happy with that lens on a pro-level FF body.

Charlesml3 - I agree with your feelings. But, there are people here posting threads like who uses a 50/1.8 on a 5D II. Sigh. No, vignetting kills most ef-s use on FF.

Understood. Best to just stay away from EF-S on a full-frame camera entirely.

10-22 is very good on 1d3. But not good on FF. Soft corners. 17-40mm is much better.
