Anyone know if the Gitzo 1541t has been discontinued? B&H seems to think so...

Probably a new model coming out. That would explain the drastic sales on this model recently.

You guys think it is worth trying to pick one up before the new one comes out?

The new one looks like it has a lower load capacity, weighs more, and can't go as low... it can do a little higher, thats it...

Ok... the 1542T didn't look that special so I bought a 1541T from Amazon... can't wait...

On the other hand... the ball on my 488RC2 somehow got cracked... hopefully Manfrotto has warranty against that kind of defect...

Will, didn't you buy the 1541 on the Sell board, not Amazon?

You'll definitely enjoy the Gitzo, I'm definitely loving mine.

Sucks to hear about the 488 though.. time to pick up a Markins ;)

At the time I made the post I had ordered off of Amazon. That one popped up like 2 minutes after I ordered off Amazon, suffice to say, I canceled my Amazon order and got that one =) Saved me some $$$!

I know exactly what you mean. I ended up with 3 gitzos too but I ended up selling one of them. I love my gitzo family!

I WOULD! Especially if you can get in on any of these closeout deals.
