Is monitor calibration mainly for printing images? I ask because when you post your images to a website the viewers monitors most likely won't be calibrated perfectly. I currently have mine calibrated using the generic software windows 7 provides. Is this good enough just for posting online? I'm not selling prints.

It's hard to tell just what's "right" for your situation.

the viewers monitors most likely won't be calibrated perfectly.

And their browsers may not respect the ICC profile in your image, either.

All you can do is make sure you see (and thus edit) your images correctly.
It's the viewers "problem" if they don't have a calibrated screen / colormanaged browser. That's out of your control.
