Does anyone know if B&H Photo has stopped carrying Ilford paper? On Tuesday, I found Galerie Smooth Pearl paper on the B&H site with no trouble, ordered it and received it on Thursday. Thursday night, I tried to find it on their site again and couldn't. Looked and looked and the only Galerie papers I found say "discontinued." I wrote to B&H about it and haven't received a reply after more than 24 hours.

I've bought a bunch of stuff with B&H and am overall pleased with them, but have sent several emails to them over the years with questions and never once received a reply.

So I just call them now if I have to. They can have that NY city sort of grumpiness, but get the job done.

Well, that's too bad. But, I agree, otherwise they're great. Most of what I buy, photography or electronics, comes from them. Best prices and best service.

Grumpiness? No, they just don't care to waste time (equals money) jerking around. Yeah, if you call and get right to the point, you'll get efficient service.

I remember working in Manhattan... If you went into a deli for a coffee and a bagel, if you didn't immediately know what size coffee and what kind of bagel, you got ignored and they took the next in line.

I just checked my wishlist on B+H and they removed my placeholders for Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl. Urghhhh, I can't believe they
discontinued that paper. That was my favorite with my Canon i9900.

FWIW, Ilford has a new version of Smooth Pearl with a new profile; that's what B&H sent me. But it is a bummer if they're dropping Ilford, because almost everything I buy is from B&H.
Thanks for the info.

Ilford isn't dropping them, we're discussing whether or not B&H Photo is dropping them. Ilford has come out with a new version of Smooth Pearl.

I just got another short email from Henry:
Per our buyer, "back in a day or 2..."
I don't know if that means the buyer will be back in a day or two or if the paper will, but if that's all the response he got from their buyer, I guess he doesn't either.

Okay, I just got an email from B&H customer service.

Unfortunately, the Ilford Galerie paper isn't available on our website at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. There was a problem with our data, so we pulled the entire line down to fix the problem. We hope to have the paper back up on the site shortly.

So the problem is just their site.
