Fantastic shots! I love that C-130! Please tell me the settings you used on it! The China Eastern shot is marvelous, too bad you didn't focus on the plane!

I think you'll find thats water being spun off of the prop tips.

Nice shots love the Mirage and the China Eastern reverse thrust clearing the water off the runway.

actually the helical pattern is caused by water vapour condensing due to the wingtip vortices from the ends of the props cutting through the air at highspeed. when the atmospheric conditions (temperature, dewpoint and humidity) are correct, they will appear from wingtips and props.

very cool shot of the Libyan MiG! as well as the flock of birds with that A330. nice work!

Thanks for your comments.

Few more from this activity. Been missing out this week because of being stuck in an office but will hopefully get some good opportunities over the weekend.

This heli & crew are the guys currently hostage after their mission to rescue 2 civilians ended in them being captured by pro-gadhafi forces. Only posting it now because it's made the news all over the world. Here's hoping they'll make it out safely. :(

Another great set! I caught the C-17 yesterday while I was in town. Check my flickr. Sad for the heli pilots, you should send the photo to various news sites and they'll post your shot perhaps.

Nice shots, and well done.

I flew on 701 when it first arrived here at CFB Trenton, it really does have quite the get up and go factor on its takeoffs. :)
