Wanna start a riot on POTN with a SigmaL?

Wanna confuse people with green, blue, purple ringed lenses? Wanna fool a thief into thinking your lens isnt a $$$$ L, but really only a $$ third party lens? Read on!

Not really hard.

Gather your materials. A scrap of sign vinyl is what I use. A sharp Xacto knife to cut your strip. A metal straight edge.

True up the edge of the vinyl.

Cut a 1mm strip. You DO NOT have to cut all the way through the backing.

Apply. Try to make the seam at the bottom. A little overlap wont hurt.

Notes:
-A scrap of sign vinyl can be had from your local sign shop. Most will just give it to you. Its available in every color you can imagine.
-1mm is the measurement I use for my Sigma and Canon Ls. Measure yours.
-Clean the lens of any finger oils before applying the vinyl.
-Pinstriping tape may be used, although idk if its available narrow enough.
-12" will do MOST lenses. The 70-200 2.8L IS took about 11".

That looks legit. Not lame nor cheesy.

Impressive. I bet there are some gearheads here that would pay to have it done

I think the purple looks cool. I think the red ring on the sigma is kind of like burning a flag, but ten times worse.
