NiZn aren't recommended for Canon flash units. The circuitry inside the flash blows up sooner or later. Many, many people on a pro photog forum i'm a member of tried them and blew up flashes.

Interesting. Eneloop win, but Imedion aren't far behind. There are new versions of both cells out now.

I'd love to see what kind of recycle times you'd get with a Pixel pack filled with NiZn. Just for a few shots, anyway. I'm not brave enough to do it, though.

Seems to me that I can get about 4-5 frames at around 6FPS ISO 6400 Manual 1/800 f/3.2 HSS ETTL, shooting basketball at 1/4 to 1/2 court distance with fresh PowerGenix NiZn's in a Pixel CP-E4 before a skip. Using Duracell's in the 580EX II, flash tube dedicated to the Pixel with NiZn's. The Pixel pack yields about 1-2 more frames than the Canon CP-E4 before a skip. After a couple of bursts, I wait & let things cool down a bit. No sense in getting carried away... well... unless... you know...

Haven't had the guts to combine 580EX II & Pixel NiZn batteries for bursts, although I've used NiZn's alone in the 580EX II for single shots.

I don't own a fast charger
