Which one has shorter recycle time? The mecablitz 58 AF-2 or the Canon 580ex II?
I would like to use the flash for wedding photography.

I don't have AF-52 but my 580ex II recycle slow when the battery is low. It's the best is to get the external battery.

I am thinking about getting the Metz for weddings however I need fast recycle time. I have a battery pack for the Canon.

If you have a battery pack, then recycling time shouldn't really be an issue. If you have a Canon battery pack, then can we assume that you also have the Canon 580EX flash? If so, I'm not sure what the Metz will give you that the Canon doesn't already for wedding use, unless you were thinking of getting additional flashes to add to what you already have. :)

I have the pack. I just wanted to upgrade to the 580ex from the 550ex.
