Opteka.com for sigma lens?

This place has a 10% off for the bigmos...which I want to buy for the 7d I just ordered.

Is this place legit?

anybody? The only info I found online so far is that they are part of 47th street photo.

so nobody has ever heard of or bought from this company?

I've purchased a few things from from 47th St Photo and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Got a great deal on a Sigma nice 28mm f1.8 "macro" lens. And their customer service was actually very helpful when a replacement Opteka flash also failed after a week and I decided I'd rather have the Sigma Super instead.

Well...I called Sigma and asked them if Opteka was an authorized dealer and they said definitely no. So now I am not sure what to do.

Yes 47th street photo is an authorized seller on Sigmas Website. So I am sort of torn on what to do. I'd like to save $100 on the lens if I can...considering I just bought a 7D it would be nice to pay full price for this lens especially when I only paid 888 for it last year.

Opteka has a facebook page, so Iposted on it about their sigma authorized retailer discrepancy. The person got back pretty quick and said there must be a mistake, that he had just called and left a message (after hours) for the president of Sigma. Then told me I should give them a call the next day. I did and a person, who sounded just like the person from Tuesday...told me that yes they were an authorized seller. She said they are a dealer..or something so they may not show up on the authorized seller list...and that they were safe to buy from. So I guess that is what I am going to do...

They were offering 10% with "SIGMASAVE10" but apparently it just expired today.

My concern with Opteka.com is that they aren't listed as authorized by Sigma. From another thread, Abe's of Maine has two promos: LOYALTY15 and NKDS25. That brings the price down to $454 (plus an additional 2% from Mr. Rebates) and they are an authorized seller by Sigma.

Yup. I bought sigma 30mm lastnight. 454 came out to total.
