In an attempt to use my only 580 EXII wirelessly, I may have come across a problem.
On one of my 7D's, the Built in Flash is not popping up as it normally does.
Looking at the menu from the camera that is not allowing for built in flash to pop up, under menu
Flash Control
Built in flash func. setting
! This menu can not be displayed.
External flash is attached.

The same 580 on my new 7D it works fine.
The menu under
Built in flash func. setting
All options appear as always.

In attempt to rush, I must have changed something that I can not recall as the brain is getting older.

Both pop up flashes were working earlier and no error appears.
Looked in manual and no trouble shooting section.
Thanks.

Probably just a slightly bent contact on the hotshoe, making the camera think the external flash is still attached (one of the two little metal springs on the left and right side).
It's quite common and easy to fix, at least temporarily. Just try to bend it up slightly with a toothpick or something similar.

I don't have a picture at hand, sorry.

"Deja vu all over again".
Thanks Macro for the help.
Problem solved.
I guess I will have to keep the glasses repair kit in my car at all times in case this should happen again.

You're welcome. Seems like this been happening more than I've seen in awhile. I've have many cameras, never had this happen till I got this new one.
