Top of Mt. Jo

This is my sister relaxing on the top of Mt. Jo, Adirondacks. A great day, cool enough to wear long sleeves, blustery, every once in a while splattering rain. And a beautiful sky and view.

The guidebook suggested that babies and puppies climb Mt. Jo, such is the toughness of the Adirondack-climbing public. And sure enough, at the top there were three preschool/kgarden kids and a tiny dog. But its a really rewarding hike by my estimation.

It looks like Bald Mountain near Old Forge on Rt 28 but with higher peaks nearby. Nice stitch and great photo!

The history goes that there was a fire that ravaged the vegetation then a rain storm that washed off the top of the mountain. It never grew back. Now the top is like a huge patio for viewing the High Peaks region.

You are supposed to crop the panoramic stitch. Thats what it is right?

In this case the crop would take off part of the hand and a great part of the sky so I left it.

I thought you had your camera under a balaclava at first!

Nice shot...looks warm...makes me wish for spring even more. I've only climbed Mt. Marcy...but the Adirondacks are beautiful.

They told me Mt. Marcy is the one far left and all the way back. It's the tallest but far away.
