Great Blue Heron

Here's some shots of a Great Blue Heron. Shot with my XSi/450D and brand new EF 100-400. I'm starting to figure the lens out but still have a ways to go.

This shot was near dusk, ISO was 1600.

Next morning just as morning overcast was clearing. This shot and one above are from opposite river bank...could not get any closer.

The heron took off but circled back over me--I zoomed out to catch this shot.
