I just happened across this a little while ago, and thought I would mention it here.
This thing's cheap, (inexpensive, not junk, at least from the reviews) and it seems as though it'd have more than a few uses in photography.
(I saw some around $300. too, so you can go 'more', if you want) :cool:
This is not professional lighting for photography, but it could help in macro, (smoke, water drops, etc.) or studio lighting possibly.

There are more lights similar, so this would be a starting point really.

So, I haven't tried it, I just thought it was worth mentioning, that's all, you may like it, then again, you may think it's a toy, it all depends. :)

Actually, I found this after looking at a way to use the motorized part to do panning, after removing the light inside, stick a (small) digital camera/video camera inside and have a remote controlled 360 degree panning machine.

Sorry, I forgot to add this in my post, I was thinking, or trying to way too early... heheh
Anyone interested in this will also have to think about dampening the motor noise this makes, but it 'might' lead to 'something'.
