I just ordered a 7D from Newegg and also got a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II for basically free after the $400 gift card rebate. I haven't printed at home in quite a while and was wondering what paper would give decent results and where would be the best place to purchase it.

Canon 1DMKIIN, 7D, 40D, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 17-40 f4L, 28-135mm IS, 85mm 1.8, 35mm 2.0, 50mm 1.8, , 18-55mm kit, 430EX II, 580EX II (2), AB800 x 2

Canon Pro Platinum on the Pro9000mkII gives results that look almost exactly like my screen image without any for-print editing. It's glossy, plenty heavy, and looks great if you like glossy.
B&H Photo seems to have the best prices for everything and their service is fast; I ordered paper and ink last Tuesday and got it Thursday without paying for shipping. That's where I buy just about everything.

Order some sample packs and try them out. I use a similar dye ink printer and I like Ilford Galerie Classic and Red River Ultra Pro and Arctic Polar.

But learn to use your printer with Canon papers and profiles first.

Thanks for the input. I will probably do as suggested and start with Canon paper then venture out.

I use Canon paper for standard size prints, but I like Red River Paper for note cards, greeting cards etc.
