The CF have used a few different versions over the years. We still have 8 of the original 'E' models kicking around. The 'H' models date to 1996 and the new 'J' models started arriving in 2010. Equipment: Canon 7D & 50D, Canon 70-200 F2.8, Sigma 120-400, Tamron 17-50 F2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, 430EX II

Since you live on the east coast, the plane could have been heading to Malta or it might have been on its return trip bringing back Canadians. The prime minister also announced that a second C-17 aircraft has arrived in Malta, ready to help evacuate Canadians still stranded in Libya. Two C-130 Hercules aircraft will be sent to create “more flexible capacity,” Mr. Harper said. and A Canadian Forces C-17 aircraft evacuated 46 people including its diplomatic staff from Libya on Saturday.

According to the DND website, they keep four at CFB Greenwood for SAR and other missions (humanitarian and army operations support). Dan

Oh, believe me the exhaust trails were clearly visible! That's why I stopped so quickly get that shot, it looked like it was coming down with engine trouble. But the trails were from all 4 engines, so not likely, I thought later. IAN - Living life on the shores of the Wallace River in northern Nova Scotia, Canada :
