Ok here we go, had a crazy long day yesterday.

First off great job EVERYONE.

Ok I'm going to comment on order.

Maureen, Really cute shot of a really cute young man and yes PURPLE is the color. I do like this but the light is a bit harsh and my the shadow from the cap is probably the really only negative. If it hadn't come down so far as to touch the eye but still a great candid type portrait of a great subject.

I laughed when I saw this Gail and with Fat Tuesday being yesterday and all. Halloween and Fat Tuesday all rolled into one. Exposure is good though the shadows are bit blocked. You know me and my thing about being dead center for no apparent reason and this is would fit into that. I do think a little more tension in the frame would help this and a none centered subject can help create that feeling. Still nice job.

Jason, Love the soft abstract quality to this. Kinda gets to a higher feeling of the color purple. Nice job with complimentary colors to (yellow & purple). Ya know what my biggest complaint will be. Again dead center. This would be even stronger with the flower being in the bottom right if the frame. Just try it with two pieces of paper and cover the right side and the bottom so the flower is in the bottom corner looking/facing up and out. I also like it placed (maybe even better) in the upper left. With the really soft bud going into the very corner. But still I really think you captured the essence of the color purple.

John, I really like the abstract quality to this. I would actually preferred not to see the match stick but thats me. Good job.

Warlord nice shot of a purple flower. Exposed well. Shallow DoF but it works here. I like it as a shot of a flower.

Lisa, would have been my fav of the week but the background is just so distracting. If you would have cropped just below those outta focus white lines on the asphalt you would have had the winner. Just take a piece of paper and cover the image down to just below those lines. You had the man vs nature thing going (nature reclaiming her title back from man) That wonderful line of vegetation. Nice image just the background was just distracting enough (its absolutely doing nothing to help this image and if its not helping its hurting it). Still it will get you a #2 this week. Like I suggested just crop to just below those OOF white lines and your eye just goes right to the flower and the flower pops instead of the background popping. Great job.

Garry, Nice flower shot but again almost dead center.

Pinnacle wine and chocolate my wife's favs. Just not sure about this image. Not sure about what is being communicated and the light is a bit harsh.

svizzerams, I really think the contrast here is a bit excessive. The highlights on her check are blown and this really could have used some light either fill light (strobe) or some reflected light back into the face to brighten the area in the shadow of the hat. I know color purple but you know how us portrait guys are :lol: Beautiful lady on a sunny day.

Mike I do like this. I really thought there would be even more abstract images that would be dealing with just purple. This is getting pretty close to that. Good job.

OK heres the winner

JASON #1 would have preferred a different crop.

LISA with a solid #2

John #3

Everyone else HM..... I couldn't pick just one HM. Great job everyone.

I hope I didn't miss anyone.
