OK heres the winner

JASON #1 would have preferred a different crop.

LISA with a solid #2

John #3

Everyone else HM..... I couldn't pick just one HM. Great job everyone.

I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Great job to everyone that entered.

Jason, Lisa, and John... congrats on the placing...

My only question is.... this is the DSLR challenge.... so how come a shot with a G series (p&s) get entered and was allowed to place??? I know this is only for fun, but it is supposed to be DSLRs....

And that's fine as long as it would be a SLR because that what this challenge is for, but the G series by Canon is a digital point and shot (

They very first rule: 1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR Camera

That's the only point I was making. I'm not trying to be a pain or anything, but there are rules.....

We pretty much let everyone in. I think we even let cell phone photos in. Anyway when I'm a judge I will. I would even let a Nikon or Leica in.....

We're pretty laid back in this game.

Congrats Jason :)

Mike53545, I agree we should be sticking to the rules of the challenge!
Not ignoring them.

airfrogusmc, it would be more respectful to follow the set rules, not change them to your personal like... :(

The problem is that these games' rules have a pretty long-standing tradition of being ignored, with the focs on the photos and not on the gear -- we'd have to do a "restart" to where every judge stuck to rejecting the photos (however high quality) that were not taken with a Canon DSLR! The rules would need to be enforced...

I never even noticed the G camera, but I think I have to agree with having this an a DSLR competition? The LMSYS can be anything, as can most others here, but this one does specifically does say DSLR in it's intro.
I wonder how many non DSLR photos have actually placed in this theme?

Wow... just catching up. Completely my mistake on the camera. I was confusing it with the LMYSY challenge (and was having some fun playing with the G12 at work one day while walking the parking lot). I have no problem being DQd. Rules are rules, and I missed it! Glad you liked the shot, though Allen (except for the white lines). ;-)a

Congrats Jason, John and everyone else! I always enjoy seeing what people post in these!

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Well the sky was actually my main gripe (and then the white lines) but I really like the shot no matter what it was taken with. ;)

Totally agree Monty! Excellent choices and fun theme.

I spat out my diet pepsi when I read this! Thanks Gail, I needed that...and the strange carbonation in my nose.

Lisa and John, congrats. Thanks Allen for the place and the words for all. I fully agree with you on the centering, I kept looking at my submission in horror for that fact. Thought about cropping it, but laziness won out. That image is the only capture I have in my archives with any real amount of purple.

Sorry about the lateness of my showing up tonight, I had a Jobi moment with my front tire blowing out on the way home. Needed the tow to Pep Boys and had to wait. Oh well, it's done.

I will have the next challenge up later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Once again, thank you and nice submissions everyone.

Jason C
