First Pan shot using the nifty 50!

While on a trek yesterday, the location happened to be right next to a train line (The Severn Service Line, Bristol). Saw the train approaching, snapped the dial into TV mode and took this one shot. So ignore the slight blur of the subject (I'm still a 'noob' ) Here's the outcome:

Checked out your flickr, you have some great shots, but given the time you had to take this one its not your best...people will say it looks like a point and shoot. Maybe with some editing it could be good!

You don't say what they were & they're not in the images EXIF, plus the image is pretty small. Take a look at First shoot with moving cars need advice.

Did you shoot in RAW? Check the info on the RAW file. Or if the pic is still saved on your camera it should tell you the settings.

But keep practicing. There's not enough background blur to give the feel of motion. Gotta lower the shutter speed.

I didn't shoot in RAW. And according to the exif info there's this:

If anyone could educate me please lol

Exposure is your Shutter Speed
Aperture is how much you stopped down
Focal Length is self explanatory
Same with ISO

Your shutter speed was too quick to capture a good pan shot with motion blur. Slow down your shutter speed and you will get better results.

Oh...and always shoot in RAW if you PP your photos.
