I had just got done washing my new Legacy and pulled it into the garage to finish it off. I was sitting on the steps leading in/out of the house when this shot came to me.

Let It Blow! Between what the Colorado sun was giving me and a bit of cloning, I could get what I wanted. Not perfect, but it's a start.

And then another shot from yesterday. I found these shipping containers behind the local shopping area. I had brought my lights and stands, but no triggers! GGGahhhhhhh!!!!!! So I parked it in the shade and did the best I could. I hate the small orange containers reflected in the doors.

Please let me know what you think. Besides that the car needs to be lowered...

Edit: OK, fixed the top one a bit. Darkened the mirrors and what I could of the roof, but it was just gone! Also straightened it a bit. and cleaned the white BG/limbo

Car looks clean. The first photo is a bit strange, mostly because there is no shadow underneath the car at all. Kind of seems like its just floating there, also seems like you need to turn it a few degrees counter clockwise to straighten the car. The second one is a great location, and you got some great lighting on the car, I would have liked to have seen a little bit less of a jdm angle going on.

I agree with Caspita. Also, the roof disappears into the white background along with the pillars and the mirrors. I would darken up the car a bit in those areas.

That car has a very attractive front end.

Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks! I think it's pretty cool. Though I've done some work to it. Normally the grill isn't that black. It's chrome and the lip spoilers don't come on it. The European and JDM cars have blacked out headlights from the factory, so I'll be blacking out some of that chrome in there too. Going with a "Panda" black on white look with this car.

It needs to be lowered a bit too, but for now I'll drive it at stock hieght. I did add a thicker rear sway bar to help flatten it out in the corners and that's been a nice, inexpensive mod.

for the 2nd one, what if you desaturated the reflection? getting rid of the orange may just be enough to keep your eye from being drawn to it

Interesting idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Here's a redux of the second one. Wondering if it's better.

I'd go a bit farther with desaturating the reflection, but it looks pretty good to me.

That's not high key. You need more than photoshop to create an high key picture.

Well Thank You Thomas for sharing with us!

Yes, I understand that. It wasn't all PS'ed. But beyond your claim maybe you have more to impart than just popping in once in a blue moon and spitting something out. Whatever...

I read a lot on this forum, I try to learn from other pictures, why do I like them? Why don't I? I post only the pictures which I think they're good enough to hang at my wall. Sometimes I comment on pictures, some because I like them, some because I don't like them.

You know it's not High Key, why would you call it High Key? Because the background is blown out and you just needed an excuse to post the picture anyway? Did you even look through the windshield when you took this picture? (High key isn't just a white background, it's much more. I suggest you read up on it.)

We all try to learn on this forum, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't look very critical at your own pictures. Post the pictures you really like, think about the pictures you don't, trash them and just try it again. You must be your own worst critic to get better, make yourself proud and learn from the mistakes you and others made.
