Well I got it to work. I'm not sure if downloading cs6 trial made it work, or if the fact I reduced my file file size by cropping before using it did.

On my old system PB crashed all the time with full sized (10MP - 21MP) files. I always had to resize them to a smaller to get it to work. Haven't tried it with this new system yet though.

EDIT: I just tried it and it seems to work fine now at full resolution. My system has 16GB RAM with a 1GB Video Card in it. PB was still a bit slow to respond but never crashed or froze for long periods of time.

Thanks... I tried it on my IMAC without installing the trial version of cs6 and just resized the image and it works fine.

so I guess the moral is to try different things if it does not work.

I'm ok with resizing, just glad I can play around with it.

Same here. I'll probably keep resizing them just because they're so much easier to work with at a smaller size.

Interestingly enough, I tried a little experiment. Apparently, the bigger the image the less distortion you get with the oil paint brush. However, the smaller the image the more distorted the image gets.

I moved all of the sliders (with exception of the colorization slider) all the way to the right for both of these images.

Both of these are from the same image source.
