Are the versions of DPP for the 50D and the G11 the same ?

Or do I have to have two different installs of DPP on my PC & laptop to process RAWs for each diff camera body? I have read on here whee the RAW files for each body are slightly different.

What if you have say a 1DmKxxx and say a 5D, can you use the same version of DPP for those two bodies and say your G11?

7D - 50D - G11 - EOS-1 - EOS 630 - Olympus 550WP, Lights, some L - A Sig - Pocket Wizards !

Download the latest version from a Canon site (3.9.2 is the current one), install it over any previous DPP version already residing on your HD (or have the supplied CD in the tray during installation) and it will support any Canon RAW-capable camera to date, as well as offer all the DPP features introduced with time.

As mentioned, I have never seen a case where a newer version of DPP did not support an older camera. Only one version is needed.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I've heard that the G-series have some differences in how they handle sharpening in the Picture Styles -- it would be interesting to see if the Raw processing handles things any differently. Get back to us if you see anything of note there between your two bodies.

As far as the older bodies, I've been processing Raw images from the 30D, 5D and 1DM3 in DPP 3.9.3 and all is good. The one problem with some of the older bodies is support for EOS Utilities in Win7 64 -- my 5D evidently lacks some drivers for a direct conntect there.
