It's worth a try. The lights are cheap, but the batteries for them are pricy.

True, but it just happens to use the same battery as my cordless impact. ;)

I used lots of "brushes" in Lightroom, which are effectually layers. I put a brush on the headlights, then added some clarity, darkened the shadows, brightened the highlights, etc. I think I altered the white balance a bit to get rid of the yellowing that was on them. Since the lighting was fairly harsh I also put a brush on all of the shadowed parts of the car so I could brighten them up a tad. There's also a GND filter coming from both the top and the bottom to draw the attention to the subject.

I play with pretty much every tool Lightroom provides until I have something I like :)

E92 in Dakar Gelb? Awesome. I own an E36 in that color. My dream is to own a Dakar E92 M3 in the same color. I just saw one recently at the dealership.....they wanted $100k for it!

and the original, only color corrected with Lightroom:

processing: Lots of healing brush, mostly "replace" with the final cleanup done with the "normal" setting. Layered in the taillights from another exposure, edited curves on that layer to fit. Added a mild high-pass layer in overlay style over the car at a lower opacity, and dodged the big shadow in the bottom left to give it some definition around the tires. Final step was a mild crop to fix the angle.

Its not as Epic as some of the images on here but I think it was a good improvement from the original.
