CDMOOSE Cream of the Crop More info | Mar 02, 2011 16:15 | #4 Good job! I've had one around all winter, quite unusual for our area, and they are indeed tough to get a decent shot of. Mar 02, 2011 16:39 | #6 Congrats, too! And it looks great. I just came in from my yard, chasing one. And, nothing good. It landed 3 ft from me, laughed at me and flew off.

I got very lucky today, not only did I catch him in the right light but I had the right lens on my body for once (400/5.6). CDMOOSE wrote in post #11944138 Good job! Very true on the muted colors, on some of the trees here I can't even spot them when their back is towards me. Shar824 wrote in post #11944150 Great shot...this is one I sure would love to see somewhere around here. Thank you Sharon. They are tough to spot but from what I understand their range is over the entire continental US and up to the southern part of Alaska. surgemaster wrote in post #11944279 Congrats, too! They are tough one to catch. Thanks. They are pesky, very hard to catch. It will probably be many moons before I'm able to get another good shot of one. frontiermonkey wrote in post #11944976 Nice shot!
