Flew into a tree at the edge of my lawn. I took shots inside first, through glass, then with door open, then got brave (didn't want to scare it off), and went outside. I ended up sitting on wet grass, hand holding. I used up the card and went back for more cards. Had it for about an hour. I'll post some more from where he flew to next.

Good shooting. The Barred Owl can be very people tolerant and allow you to get pretty close. They are wonderful subjects.

I don't need a second childhood. I'm not finished yet with the first one.

Thank you, all, for the comments. Harv, the owl was tollerant for me. But the property owner of the lot next to me went out in the woods with his daughter to cut some bows for Xmas. He was cutting on a tree and the owl happened to be roosting in that tree. The owl came out and attacked him. Bloodied up his face pretty good. Lucky he didn't lose an eye.

How great to have him land in your yard, and stick around for a photo session....great shots Rex.

thank you for looking. Sharon, Yes I was lucky. You know that most of the time you only get a few seconds with a subject.
