Yellow-rumped warbler

This is the first year we've had one around here. He seems to prefer the ground to trees but I caught him today in some twigs.

A great shot!...glad you saw one. It seems like they're one of the most abundant birds we see here in the winter.

Thanks. I've seen them frequently in other areas but this is the first time one has moved in here.

They do move fast. I've spotted this guy on the ground a lot. He has also been visiting a suet feeder I have in a tree. Unlike most other birds he doesn't use the tree branches as launching points for the feeder so it has been tough to get a natural shot of him.

I caught him a few minutes ago coming in for a landing.
