Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade to a real camera shoulder bag and thinking about getting a crumpler. I have a very modest setup. 5D with grip, Sigma 28-70 f/2.8, Tamron 70-300 VC and a 430 EX. I don't usually take the flash with me though. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the 5D will fit with the grip on it. I found this picture, wich leads me to think that it will fit. Thanks everyone!

It does fit, but very tight, the closing straps are at their maximum extension and the top flap bulges.

I have the 6MDH, and that holds a gripped 5D + 28-70L, 70-200L 2.8 IS and a 580EXII. But then it's really stuffed. The 5MDH will be a bit to tight I think.

Same here...it makes it a bit difficult to close and/or you lose front pocket functionality...

But if you put the body at the bottom, with the lens facing up it works fine...but kind of a silly way to carry your body....or even if you put it in sideways, it kind of works...but you lose most of the storage space

QUOTED IMAGE

With a grip, the camera is taller than it is wider. Turn the camera 90 degrees. It will fit better.

Thanks a bunch! That's exactly what I needed to see. I think this will work for me as I don't have very much gear, and usually don't bring it all when I go out.

[zombie thread alert]

I came across your thread regarding your gripped 5d, 50mm/1.4 and 70-200/4 and the Crumpler 5 MDH.

Did you ever try this combination out? If so, was it usable w/o much wrestling? I have the same setup but with an gripped XSi/450D and would prefer to go as lean as possible.

Thanks much.

You'll be fine with that.

Yeah it totally worked fine. I actually put the 5d in on it's side with the 50/1.4 facing toward the front of the bag, not toward the bottom like the picture above. Then the 70-200 fits on the side. This fits, but doesn't leave much room for anything else, like a charger. If you're doing some casual shooting this will be fine. I imagine that the XSi will leave more room for that stuff though.
