As part of the Air Force Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) program, this CC-150 Polaris aircraft has been converted to a strategic air-to-air refueller for Canada’s fleet of CF-18 Hornet fighter aircraft. The Polaris is capable of transferring 36,000 kilograms (79,380 pounds or about 36,000 litres) of fuel to receiving aircraft over a journey of 4,630 kilometres (2,875 statute miles). Consequently, one Polaris tanker can ferry a flight of four CF 18 Hornets non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean.

This plane is assigned to 437 Squadron out of 8 Wing Trenton, which is currently equipped with five CC-150 Polaris (A-310 Airbus) Aircraft.

Very sleek looking.

It is quite the cool looking jet in military grey.

Good shot of it!

Thanks Frank. The end of day lighting certainly helped.

Thanks for the kind words mate.

I was actually on my way home when I saw it and sped all the way back to the base to catch it on final.

Would love to see your photos of the Luftwaffe plane, regardless of quality - neat to see different paint on planes.
