I'm after a cheap inexpensive flash that can be used as a slave to my 7D and along side my Metz 58. Not bothered by build quality or make, it's mainly for experimenting with a 2nd OCF.

What can you recommend?

Thanks
Ross

I have a couple of Yongnou yn-468's. Inexpensive, and they have worked great for me.

Question.

With it being used solely with a softbox or umbrella and therefore in manual mode the only real feature I need is remote triggering. Would I be safe to assume the YN460 II would do the job. At £35 shipped it's hare to argue with. Plus I like the simplicity of the controls with no menus to master.

Yes. ETTL doesn't work off camera anyways. Many people love that flash. The older style with the plastic foot is prone to breaking. The new ones with metal foot are much better.

Just to be clear, are you wanting to use the canon wireless system?

I've fired my plastic footed YN-460-II's in the thousands of times, no complaints.

If they came up with a YN flash that had swivel and zoom as well I'd consider upgrading but for the price can't complain.

No, I'm going to move to the Yonguno 603 system.

I just received a YN560 last week and I've been loving it. Great flash for the money.

Wow, the stuff sold by this shop is so cheap, are you really sure this isn't some kind of scam website?
