Okay with everyones input, advice I sprung for the yn468. Now being a total newbie to a external flash, does anyone have settings advice or techniques that can help with getting some nice basic portraits in low light (indoor, bar/lounge, etc) and or of a band or a couple.

I want to eventually create shots like this:

any example shots are welcome with what you have created with that flash

Camera I will be using is a t2i - most likely the 50mm 1.8 lens
