Well, it's easy to see why the zipper is number one. It's very hard to unbutton your 501s while wearing snow mittens.

I hear good things about Verizon Fios. I wish it was available where I live.

Got cable or something? I'm too far out of town to get cable. I have three options... dial-up, Roger's Rocket Stick which is cell based, or Bell Rural Wireless. We went with Bell. We have a 'dish' outside pointed towards the nearest broadcast tower. The towers have a 23km range and we're at 22kms. Our speed is the max that is available out here. Unless we want to pay for the cable company to string 5kms of fibre optic cable

Where I live, there is no land-line telephone. Even if there were, it wouldn't carry DSL. There are no line-of-sight commo towers, and only a bounced- off-the-mountain-face cell service (Verizon). UHF and microwave links are out. We therefore use Verizon for cell phones and HughesNet (satellite) for HS internet. The internet speed varies widely from cheetah fast to snail slow at any given time. I suppose it depends upon the load on our particular satellite.

It sounds like you're living in a canyon. I live in the flat-lands of Ontario. Our main issue with the internet is that we had to mount the dish only 8 feet off the ground as it has to 'look out' below the trees. When a train goes by the net slows down to a stall.

If all of us POTNers play on the same team, there is no trouble. But if we split up and go up against each other, the three of us should NOT be on the same team.

Yup! Texas Canyon. Famous for weird rock formations, and infamous for no good places to stop and enjoy them that's not private property.
