i sell a ton of used gear and never supply a receipt, the gear is what it is, buyers only seem to care about price and date code
it's nobody's business what you paid for a lens, where it was bought or how long you owned it as long as it works and is in good condition
I like your answer, Martin. It's the simplest.
I guess I won't bring it up, but if I am asked for a receipt I can provide a copy of the order confirmation.

I'd say its fine
I hang onto a lot of stuff for a very long time though lol, I still have the purchase receipt for my Powermac G5 Dual 2ghz...I keep it as a funny anecdote..
Though not as funny as a few receipts my parents have saved, I remember we came across one for a 6.4gb Western Digital HDD we purchased...for the low low price of $400-someodd....
and my mom's Datsun which she paid $1800-something for in the 70s
I usually keep receipts for a while too, but after some time I may toss them out. In the past I had printed my order confirmations from online purchases and put those together with the invoices sent in the packages. They're in a folder somewhere, which I haven't organized or taken out since I moved. For a few years now, though, I've printed to Pdf instead of paper, so that saves a lot of clutter and doesn't take much HDD space.
