Took this one tonight,20d, kit lens, and 3200 ISO six seconds@ f22...shoulda gone a little longer, but didn't want the lights to blow too bad..

That's pretty cool. Try with a lower ISO, you get alot less "grain". I know that you wanted to limit the light blowout, but, by lowering the ISO, it seems to limit this.

This photo was taken at ISO 100, 15 sec. exposure, f8, and, obviously shot in RAW. Taken with the 18-55mm kit lens (at 55mm).
