Just ordered a Holga HL-C canon mount lens. It costs 24.99 on Holga Direct, but 12.99 to 18.99 on eBay so i ordered it from eBay to save some coin. It's such a cheap toy lens that it could be fun to play with. It's a manual 60mm f8 lens so i'll probably only use it for studio, street and sunny days w/ the 5D.

Because... uhmmm.... it cost me only 18 dollars for a fun toy lens? HAHA! It might be fun to use the holga lens.

These don't look like any Holga shots I've ever seen. Where's the light leaks, the wierd color shifts?

6D, G9, Sigma 50 1.4, Sigma 15mm Fisheye, Sigma 50 2.8 macro, Nikon 14-24G 2.8, Canon 16-35 2.8 II, Canon 24-105 f/4 IS, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS, tripod, lights, other stuff.

That doesn't look like a fun lens at all...that just looks like a crappy lens!

I was all excited thinking it'll produce some awesome Lomo-style images (like what irishman is talking about)...but that's just plain junk...

Let's be honest though, as expected, they're not very good.

Yeah, but they're not "fun" either...they're just simply...awful. I totally see the point of shooting with a Holga for fun because of the colour shifts, distortions and light leaks...but this is just a low-contrast, soft lens...big whoopee haha :)

I'll put it this way, if I were offered one for 10 pence, I wouldn't see any point in accepting it. I've tried playing about with one in PP and the results are still dreadful.

Please excuse me if I shouldn't have edited somebody else's image but I'm unsure where it originated and I haven't reposted or retained it.

Lol! I'll definitely post samples when I do get it. I intend to scratch it up and mod it as I see fit. ;) can't wait!

Perhaps you could put it on a train line when an express is expected

Seriously though, I'll be interested to see what you can produce with it.
