The mic is a bit distracting in #2 and 5 and to me they look a little soft to me but I might need new glasses ;) other than that I like them.

this was what i was wondering about. i don't know why i always shoot at crazy angles, perhaps its partly due to alcohol consumption, but to me it makes some shots more interesting. i was worried to some people it might be entirely off-putting, though.

thanks! i think photobucket's compression adds a bit to their softness. the originals can be seen on my flickr in my sig.

I do that sometimes too, so I'm definitely not saying it's a bad thing... maybe just something to limit. The funny thing is though, when I look at a lot of the angled shots I see that the framing wouldn't have been nearly as tight if it was kept perfectly horizontal so the shots probably gain something from it as well

I think you should have focused on the faces.

Don't blame Photobucket. It works fine if you set it up right. PB sizing problem discussed in this thread:

...yah, get rid of that mic... they don't need that stupid thing...

Back to reality, The composition is good but I'm not a big fan of the tilt angles either. I actually tried this technique at a wedding during the maid of honor and best man speech and they didn't look right in the camera. It's just a matter of taste I guess. The only angle shot that I liked was #3. Maybe because the background helps balance it out?

I really like the angles you shot these at, it makes them stand out from the "average" concert photo. Good Job

The only pic the angles look right in for me is #1. The whole mic stand/guitar neck similar angles along with the roof line/his right upper arm similar angles along with his body position/cymbal stand similar bent angles hold enough angular stability to allow the slight camera angle to compliment and not let the viewer fall of the picture.

#3 is so close. He is bent over, but not enough with the angle of the picture. If the picture were turned so he was straight and his buddies behind him would still be at angles, it might work better.

The rest the angles do nothing for the shots but distract and dizzy.

I like every one of them - I know these are not easy to shoot. They are out of focus - not photobucket.
The framing, angles and colours are super.
