I did a little experimenting tonight. Here are a couple HSS shots. Yes, I know I sacrificed flash power. This gym is fairly well lit, I figured I could drop ISO, stop down and still get something usable.

First one is ISO 2000, f/3.5, 1/400, FEC +2
Second is ISO 2000, f/3.5, 1/500, FEC +2 2/3

I usually shoot ambient but on occasion need to use flash. I do like how the colors "pop".

The color is the first thing I noticed and really appreciate. I like them very much.

That's why I was experimenting. I need to get some strobes though. I am not able to get the crisp stop motion that I am used to getting when shooting high ISO. The trade-off is the lack of color "pop" with ambient. Still playing with it. I know I can cut the ambient more, but I dont care for the dark background "cave" look when I do that. I have two flashes but the second is a 420EX-no manual mode...
